The Great Long March, A Brilliant Epic:
Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Long March Victory
From Oct 18, 2016
Location: Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall, Yan’an city, Shaanxi province
The Long March is a revolutionary feat that is unprecedented in human history and one of the Chinese nation’s most epic stories of heroism.
The year of 2016 marks the 80th anniversary of the time when the Red Army -the forerunner of the People's Liberation Army-led by the Communist Party of China, successfully completed a 12,500-kilometerjourney known as the Long March (1934-36) that laid a significant foundation for the Communist victory in the Chinese civil war.
The exhibition is composed of six sections: The Strategic Transfer of the Central Red Army; The Historic Turning Point after the Zunyi Conference; Marching Northward to Shaanxi to Fight Against Japanese Aggression; Setting Foot in the Shaanxi-Gansu Revolutionary Base; Establishing the Anti-Japanese National United Front; and Enduring Spirit of the Long March.
The exhibition, through more than 350 photos, 248 cultural relics, and with the help of various media such as acoustics, light and electronics, vividly revisits the two-year period before the three major forces of the Red Army joined forces in Gansu province after trekking over waters and battling over mountains.
It was aimed at inheriting and promoting the spirit of the Long March to realize the dream of the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation, and paying tribute to the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries, as well as the revolutionary martyrs and masses who dedicated themselves to victory.
