Three Lanes and Seven Alleys Tourist Area is a famous historical and cultural neighborhood in the center of Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province. It’s a landmark, epitomizing the city’s history of more than 2,200 years.

The tourist area covers 40 hectares and is composed of three lanes (Yijin Lane, Wenru Lane and Guanglu Lane), seven alleys (Yangqiao Alley, Langguan Alley, Ta Alley, Huang Alley, An’ming Alley, Gong Alley and Jibi Alley) and a main street (Nanhou Street).

The development of the residence block dates back to the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234), which was in its high peak in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. There are over 200 ancient structures in the tourist area that are well preserved, winning it the reputation of “a large-scale architecture museum of the Ming and Qing dynasties.”

Throughout time, many renowned politicians, writers, poets and scholars were born here, making these historical buildings more vivid.
