​Jinan nighttime economy gradually reawakens

As the epidemic gradually subsides, Jinan's nighttime economy has been seeing a rapid recovery, as a majority of stalls on commercial and snack streets have now reopened, local media reported.

"On March 21, the business hours of stores here were extended to 21 o'clock," said a man surnamed Liu, who works at Yuelifang, a 24-hour commercial block in Jinan.

According to Liu, all restaurants in the area had resumed operations by March 14 and began allowing people to eat inside. Yuelifang is a popular place to eat midnight snacks among locals working overtime.

The Huanlian night market, the biggest in Jinan, also reopened on March 21. It boasts more than 1,100 stalls containing a wide range of local snacks.

According to Xie Wei, head of the market's operation department, as of March 22, more than 700 stalls had reopened. However, some vendors from outside the city needed to undergo quarantine.

"We are still being strict about prevention and control. Customers entering the night market must have their temperatures taken, their health QR codes scanned, and their IDs checked," Xie said.

As of March 22, the market had received more than 10,000 visitors during evening hours. After closing, workers thoroughly disinfect the market every day.
