Hangzhou will continue to increase  efforts to improve its transport network, a decision made at the 2020 Hangzhou meeting on transportation on Jan 9.

According to the report delivered at the meeting, Hangzhou invested 100.3 billion yuan ($14.47 billion) in 2019 to construct its transport network, marking a record high in investment value.

The total volume of commodities handled at Hangzhou Port reached 139 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 17.51 percent.

Residents from all 10 districts in Hangzhou can access subways in their own districts. In addition, 45 bus routes were added over the past year.

The city also launched special programs in 2019 to deal with traffic jams and overload issues.

Moving forward, the city will continue to develop its transport network while focusing on addressing pollution. Hangzhou aims to ensure no emissions of sanitary sewage from ships in the future.
