Green food industry expo underway in Harbin

The Heilongjiang Green Food Industry Expo is currently running in Harbin, capital city of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, according to the organizers.

The expo is one of the most influential food exhibitions in Northeast China and has been held six times since 2013.

The Oct 10-14 event will showcase the newest food industry achievements, in order to promote food products to domestic and overseas markets.

The organizers said the expo also provides an opportunity for investors to connect with projects and acts as a platform to expand food industry business with other countries and regions.

This year’s expo has attracted businesses from more than 13 regions and countries, including Russia, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, France, Australia, Myanmar and Cambodia.

A total of 11 exhibition halls have been set up at the expo, covering an area of 68,000 square meters and housing 2,000 stands.

The expo features grains, edible oil, dairy products, meat, poultry, eggs, seafood products, alcohol and beverages.

Additionally, another 11 activities will be held during the expo.

These include the Heilongjiang Rice Festival Rice Industry Development Forum, a match-making meeting for the Sino-Russia soybean trade, and a matchmaking meeting targeting green food producers in Heilongjiang.
