The 2020 Harbin Cold Region Expo kicked off on Jan 5 in Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center in Harbin, capital of northeastern Heilongjiang province and runs to Jan 8, according to the organizers.

Sponsored by the government of Harbin, the expo aims to drive the development of the local ice and snow economy related to winter tourism and the winter sports industries.

Around 300 businesses from 14 countries and regions are participating in the expo, including those from Austria, Sweden, Japan, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and France.

This year’s expo features more international exhibitors than in the past, with foreign companies making up 40 percent of the total.

Several exhibition areas are displaying the latest winter sports equipment and winter clothing. They feature exhibits on ice and snow entertainment facilities to exhibits showcasing ski equipment, down jackets, as well as fur and leather clothes.

The organizers said the total exhibition area covers 12,000 square meters.

In addition to exhibitions, product promotion activities in the form of new product press conferences, brand promotions meetings and fashion shows are being held.

It is estimated that the total visitors during the three-day expo will reach 50,000.
