As of the end of November, Zhanjiang has added 2,989 pension beds, with the total number reaching 50,305. Its pension service system that integrates medical care and senior care based on home, community, and institutions has gradually been developing.

In recent years, Zhanjiang has put the promotion of senior care services as a major matter of improving people's livelihoods. It has actively explored the construction of a pension service system, as well as promoted the deepening reform of pension service to meet diversified, sophisticated, and specialized demands.

The Zhanjiang civil affairs department has actively coordinated with the natural resources bureau to promote the planning and establishment of facilities for seniors, as well as encouraged areas with conditions to utilize existing community facilities and resources to carry out senior care services.

At present, the smart home-based care service has begun to take shape in Zhanjiang with the information of more than 200,000 seniors recorded on the pension service information platform. Since this year, more than 10,000 service consultations and home-based services have been provided by voluntary service organizations and more than 70 contracted service providers.

Zhanjiang also promotes food service for seniors. The senior canteens in Huangwai village, Mazhang town, and Shuidian community, Leizhou are operating in an orderly manner. In addition, the city strongly supports and guides social workers to integrate resources and build day care centers for seniors in communities.

In addition, the Zhanjiang civil affairs department also focuses on strengthening quality supervision of senior care service.
