Construction on Beihu Wetland Park is currently underway in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, according to local media reports.

With an investment of 600 million yuan ($89.5 million), the wetland park will be 3.5 times larger than Slender West Lake and consist of 16 scenic attractions.

Chang Chengliang, deputy director of Beihu Wetland Park management committee, revealed that all the attractions will be named after places mentioned in books written by Jiao Xun and Ruan Yuan, two renowned scholars during the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and the early Qing Dynasty (1616-1911).

Cheng said that many notable figures and scholars at that time chose to live in Beihu after retirement, a fact which will be fully reflected in the park.

The park comes as part of local authorities' efforts to promote "all-for-one" tourism so as to better integrate the city's tourism resources.

The idea of "all-for-one" tourism was first mentioned in 2017 in the central government work report and aims to accommodate the country's growing demand for tourism products and services.

The park expects to receive guests early next year.
