Datong launches culture and tourism events

Datong city, Shanxi province launched its annual Yungang Culture and Tourism Series on July 15. 

Around 100 events, including the International Jackie Chan Action Movie Week, will be held in the next three months to promote the city’s profile.

The annual Yungang Culture and Tourism Series hosted by the Information Office of the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and the Datong government has been held for the past 20 years, helping boost the local tourism market and promoting the city. 

In the first half of 2019, Datong received 33.43 million visitors, representing a year-on-year growth of 22.96 percent, and generated 28.11 billion yuan ($4.09 billion) in tourism revenue, up 24.35 percent year on year.
