Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College

Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College, founded in 1974 in the northeast part of Sichuan province, is a medical center integrating treatment, scientific research, and teaching and training.

Covering an area of 236 mu (15.73 hectares), the hospital currently has 56 clinical and scientific departments, and 2,500 patient beds. The department of proctology of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is listed as a national key TCM discipline, while the department of proctology of integrated Chinese and Western medicines is among the key specialties of the National Administration of TCM.

The hospital is also the authorized unit for three master's degree programs for first-rank disciplines (clinical medicine, medical technology and pharmacy), and 18 master's degree programs for second-rank disciplines.

The discipline of clinical medicine entered the top 1 percent in the global rankings set by the Essential Science Indicators, also known as ESI, an authoritative analysis and evaluation tool for measuring scientific research performance.

There are currently more than 4,000 staff members at the hospital, 447 of whom have senior titles.

In the past five years, the hospital has undertaken more than 400 scientific research projects, including 33 at national level and 20 at ministerial or provincial level. It has won one Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, one science and technology progress award from the Ministry of Education, nine science and technology progress awards from the Sichuan Provincial Government, and 12 provincial medical science awards.

In 2018, the number of outpatients at the hospital exceeded 1.8 million person-times, while the annul number of patients discharged was more than 83,000.
