Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics

Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics is a multi-disciplinary university with its predecessor of Jiangxi Provincial Business School founded in 1923. In 2012, the university was upgraded to be jointly managed by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education and People’s Government of Jiangxi Province.

With Ganjiang River passing by in the east, the university is located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi province. It has four campuses covering a construction area of 1 million square meters.

The university mainly offers programs under such categories as economics, management, law, engineering, literature, science and art. Its competitive majors include applied economics, statistics and business administration.

As of May 2019, there are a total of 2,239 faculty members at the university. The number of full-time undergraduate students is 21,000, as well as about 5,000 postgraduate students. The employment rate for the students was above 90 percent in 2018.

With an open schooling attitude, it has maintained a stable exchange and cooperation relationship with 138 universities and institutes across 36 countries and regions, including the State University of New York at Stony Brook, McMaster University in Canada, and University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.

The university started enrolling overseas students since 1996 from partner institutions and other countries. In 2010, it became a member of International Student Exchange Programs (ISEP). It is one of the two universities in Chinese Mainland capable of exchanging students with more than 300 member universities.

High-quality education is provided to overseas students by offering them a majority of their undergraduate and graduate courses. There are also some courses taught in English available for their convenience. All of the face to face teaching and learning activities are conducted in small classroom environments of less than 15 students.

At present, the university offers a wide range of scholarships to help deserving students finance their studies, including Chinese Government Scholarship, Jiangxi Province Scholarship, University Scholarship.
