In 2018, Shaanxi constructed more than 1,800 km of railways, and several high-speed and inter-city railways were put into operation, such as Yinchuan in Ningxia Hui autonomous region to Xian, Xi’an to Yan’an, Xi’an to Shiyan in Central China's Hubei province, and Xi’an to Famen Temple Inter-city Railway. The China Railway Express (Xi’an), also known as the China-Europe freight train, made 1,235 trips, ranking first in the country.
