Fuzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital

Fuzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, first established in 1947, is a 3A-grade comprehensive TCM hospital integrating medical treatment, training, scientific research, disease prevention, health care and rehabilitation.

The hospital covers a total area of 15 mu (1 hectare) and has a building area of 18,029 square meters with 400 beds. A new ward complex is under construction and is expected to be completed in 2019. The new building has an overall building area of 18,198.8 sq m and has 800 patient beds.

It has 27 clinical departments and 14 medical laboratories with the hospital’s annual patient number of outpatient departments reaching 550,000. Seven specialties are listed as national or provincial key TCM specialties.

The hospital currently employs more than 700 staff members and 188 of them hold senior or medium-grade titles. Six of the hospital’s staff members have been named famous TCM practitioners in Fujian province.

The hospital has devoted great efforts in developing both Chinese and western medicine, being able to carry out hysteroscopic minimally invasive surgery and various kinds of surgical operations of surgery, orthopedics, and gynaecology and obstetrics.

It is equipped with advanced medical facilities such as Siemens 1.5 T magnetic resonance imaging, Italian dental triad CT, STORZ hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, Olympus electronic gastroenteroscopy, Olympus fiberoptic bronchoscope, digital gastrointestinal machine, semiconductor laser therapy apparatus, doppler ultrasound, large automatic biochemical instrument and immunoanalyzer.

In addition, the hospital emphasized the development of scientific research and medical training, owning nine research and innovation team and has undertaken about 100 scientific research tasks at national, provincial or municipal levels in the past five years. The hospital has published nearly 20 treatises.
