Shandong Jiaotong University

Shandong Jiaotong University was jointly founded by the Ministry of Transport and the Shandong Provincial Government in 1956. In 2011, the university was approved by the academic degree committee of the State Council as a pilot unit for cultivating postgraduates.

The university currently has four campuses in Jinan and Weihai, covering a total area of more than 3,200 mu (213.33 hectares). By March 2019, there are over 25,000 full-time students at the university, and 1,610 teaching and administrative staff members, including five of them enjoying the governmental special allowance awarded by the State Council and 18 prominent teachers at ministerial or provincial level.

The university currently has 17 secondary schools, as well as the basic teaching department, the department of physical education, and the college of continuing education. It offers 59 majors for bachelor degrees, and two authorized master degree specialties (traffic engineering, and naval architecture and ocean engineering).

Attaching great importance to scientific and technological innovation, the university has built up one national key laboratory of transportation industry, three provincial engineering technology research centers, an international business research center, and one traffic education research base.

The university has established long-term cooperative relations with 62 universities and colleges in more than 20 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Russia. By collaborating with Thai universities, the university opened a campus in Khon Kaen province of Thailand.

By March 2019, the university received a total of 525 foreign students from 50 foreign countries.
