Shenyang 242 Hospital, also known as the Third Affiliated Hospital of Shenyang Medical College, was first established in 1954, and it has developed into a large 3A-grade comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and rehabilitation.

The hospital covers an area of 70,000 square meters and a building area of 42,000 sq m, with a total of 750 patient beds. There are 20 first-rate clinical diagnosis and treatment subjects, 52 second-level clinical diagnosis and treatment subjects, four first-rate medical treatment subjects, and 13 second-level medical treatment subjects.

It has formed a complete set of specialties, of which the pediatrics department is a key specialty among the city. Other key disciplines in the hospital include hand and foot microsurgery, otolaryngology, neuroendocrinology, cardiology, hemodialysis, as well as neurosurgery.
