The First People’s Hospital of Changzhou, also known as the Third Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, was established in 1918 in the center of Changzhou.

Over the past 100 years, the hospital has been developed into the 3A-grade general hospital that it is today, employing top medical experts, advanced medical facilities and playing host to a range of specialist services.

The hospital covers a total area of 73,000 square meters and has a floor area of approximately 308,200 sq m. Currently, it employs a total of 3,304 members of staff, including 216 professors and chief physicians, and 429 associate professors and associate chief physicians.

The hospital has 2,980 beds and the annual number of outpatient and emergency visits reached more than 2.3 million.

The hospital has 54 clinical and technical departments and 15 of them are provincial key clinical departments such as urology, gastroenterology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, hematology, oncology and general surgery.

In addition, the hospital is equipped with advanced devices such as the PET/CT, MRI, DSA, ECT, high-speed spiral CT scanners, linear accelerators, DR, three-dimensional B ultrasound and automatic biochemical analyzers.
