The Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University

The Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, also known as the General Hospital of Nuclear Industry and the Sino-France Friendship Hospital, was established in December 1988 to meet the needs of local development by the China National Nuclear Industry Committee (the predecessor of the China National Nuclear Corporation).

As a comprehensive 3A-grade hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University has 2,765 staff members, including 458 senior experts and more than 3,000 sets of advanced medical equipment such as CT, MRI, SPECT and a linear accelerator.

The hospital covers about 7,600 square meters with a construction area of about 175,000 sq m.

Currently the hospital provides 1,328 beds and 32 clinical departments along with eight medical laboratories. In 2018, the annual patient numbers for the outpatient and emergency departments reached 2.16 million and the annual number of surgical operations amounted to 35,500.

The hospital, as the Sino-France Friendship Hospital, has carried out deep cooperation with French universities in cities such as Paris, Strasbourg and Grenoble.
