Ningbo Mitsubishi Chemical Co Ltd was developed by joint investment from Mitsubishi Chemical, Itochu Corporation and CITIC Group. The company was established in April 2005 in Daxie Development Zone, Ningbo, Zhejiang province, with investment of $359 million. 

PTA is one of the main raw materials for polyester production and is widely used in chemical fibers, films and packaging materials. The company applies world-class PTA production technology, independently developed by Mitsubishi Chemical, to generate an annual output of 600,000 tons of purified terephthalic acid products. 

The plant started production in February 2007 and the company is striving to become an important Asian production base for Mitsubishi Chemical in the near future. The company adopts the advanced management system of Japanese companies to provide employees with generous salaries and development opportunities.

Business Scope: Manufacturing and selling purified terephthalic acid products; operating berths and other port facilities; renting and operating loading, unloading, warehousing, port machinery and facilities in the port area; import and export commission agency (except for auction) and related business in purified terephthalic acid products, para-xylene, chemical machinery, chemical equipment and electric machinery (except for auto vehicles).
