Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link

The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link is a high-speed railway line that connects Beijing and Hong Kong (Kowloon) via Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The railway project was divided into two sections – the Guangshen (Guangzhou-Shenzhen) section with six stations and the Hong Kong section with one station.

The Guangshen section, stretching a length of 116 kilometers, starts at Guangzhou South Railway Station and ends up at Shenzhen North Railway Station. Construction of this section was started in December 2005 and its revenue operation was commenced in December 2011.

Construction of the 26-km-long Hong Kong section, which connects Shenzhen to Hong Kong (West Kowloon Railway Station), started in January 2010 and the line was opened in September 2018.

The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link has significantly shortened the journey time among the main cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and is of great significance in boosting the area's economic cooperation and common prosperity.
