Companies in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, are capable of getting electricity in a maximum of 25 working days, local media reported on Feb 18.

Getting electricity is one of the 10 indicators for the World Bank to evaluate one particular city or country's investment and business climate, which includes the procedures, time and cost for a company to apply for electricity from local power supply companies.

The time needed for companies in the city to get electricity is three days less than in Germany and nine days less than in Beijing and Shanghai.

The Quzhou branch of State Grid Corporation of China has taken measures to reduce documents needed for the application by 71.4 percent, streamline application procedures by 50 percent and increase the presence of online management over the procedures.

Applicant companies are now required to submit just three documents to the Quzhou power supply company: the application for electricity, their business license, and their housing property certificate for buildings using the electricity.

It is now the duty of the power supply company, instead of the applicant companies as it was before the reform, to receive the relevant approval from the planning, transportation, construction and public security bureaus.

Quzhou's success in this matter has been recognized by Zhejiang Provincial Government and the State Council and will be promoted around China.
