In recent years, South China's Hainan province has been a popular destination for an increasing number of individuals who choose to travel to the tropical paradise for the Spring Festival vacation despite the phenomenal travel rush known as Chunyun.

Haikou, capital city of Hainan, is going all out to welcome the coming Chinese Lunar New Year.

Haikou's Qilou Old Street is a symbol of Haikou and perhaps the most impressive example of arcade architecture in all of China. Its oldest building dates back some 600 years to the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279). Although centuries have passed, people can still enjoy the beauty of the buildings walking along the streets of Qilou.
