Jingzhou Economic and Technology Development Zone, located east of Hubei’s Jingzhou city, is the major platform for the city’s industrial economy and investment attraction. It was set up in May 1992 and was approved by Hubei Provincial People’s Government as a provincial-level development zone.

In June 2011, Jingzhou Economic and Technology Development Zone became a national zone approved by the State Council and the whole area of the zone amounted to 318.5 square kilometers. It is now one of the demonstrations areas for transformation and upgrading in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

Jingzhou Economic and Technology Development Zone has five industrial parks in fields as diverse as new energy vehicles and intelligent equipment manufacturing, optical communication electronic information, green recycling, green building and port logistics.

By the end of 2017, 427 companies above designated size had settled in the area, including 77 hi-tech companies, and the industrial output above designated scale added up to 96.19 billion yuan ($142.45 million).
