Quzhou scientists win national technological invention award

Two scientists from Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province won the second prize of the 2018 State Technological Invention Award at the National Science and Technology Awards Conference held in Beijing on Jan 8.

Li Xiaonian, president of Zhejiang University of Technology and Zhou Shunhua, a professor of Tongji University, bagged the prizes with their respective research on ammonia synthesis catalyst and technological problems encountered by underground projects.

The State Technological Invention Award is one of the five national science and technology prizes that China's State Council set up in 2000 to reward Chinese citizens or organizations which have made great contributions to scientific and technological advancement, with the highest award up to 8 million yuan per capita.
