Quzhou turns vegetable markets into scenic spots

Nine farm produce markets in Quzhou, East China' Zhejiang province, were made into vegetable market demonstration scenic spots by the Quzhou market supervision bureau and tourist council, according to local media reports.

Quzhou is home to many renowned farmer's markets, which attract numerous visitors from around the country looking to taste authentic local delicacies and culture every year.

The nine markets include three in downtown Quzhou and six in the city's Kecheng and Qujiang districts, and Jiangshan, Changshan, Kaihua and Longyou counties.

Since 2018, Quzhou Municipal Government has invested more than 67 million yuan ($9.7 million) in sprucing up 18 local vegetable markets, all of which have satisfied the standards of Zhejiang's trustworthy farm produce markets.

Construction of trustworthy farm produce markets is an important part of the province's rest assured consumption. Such a market should maintain a neat and clean appearance suitable for its stallholders, tourists and local residents.

The 18 farm produce markets in Quzhou have entertained more than 43,000 tourists and sold 6.1 million yuan worth of goods over the past year.
