Suzhou in Jiangsu province is world-famous for its classical gardens, among which are the Humble Administrator's Garden, Tiger Hill and Lingering Garden.

The Humble Administrator's Garden is the large  st, with a history of over 500 years and an abundance of natural and man-made wonders. A place where greenery is matched by glistening ponds and intricately carved pavilions. It is truly an oasis of beautiful proportions.

Tiger Hill, which dates as far back as the late Spring and Autumn period (475-221 BC), gives an impression of serenity with its pagoda and temple. The 1,000-year-old Yunyan Temple and pagoda appear plain, but are truly remarkable structures.

Covering 2.3 hectares, the Lingering Garden is the best-preserved of all Suzhou gardens. Built in 1583, it is the former residence of Xu Taishi, a bureaucrat of the Ming court (1368-1644). In 1961, the garden was listed as a key national cultural relic under State protection.
