Jinan is the transportation hub in Shandong province and one of the north-south transportation hubs in China.

The highway network in Jinan has basically been formed. The total highway mileage of Jinan by the end of 2017 is 12,856.8 kilometers, a year-on-year increase of 1 percent and of which 488.5 km are expressways. It has five national roads and 16 provincial roads.

The Jinan-Qingdao High-speed Railway, Jinan-Liaocheng High-speed Railway, and the Beijing-Fuzhou State Highway join up here. Jinan West Railway Station is one of the five departure/ terminal stations along the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway.

Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport had some 150 domestic and international airlines to 82 cities by the end of 2017, including Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Los Angeles of United States, Milan of Italy, Tokyo of Japan and Seoul of South Korea.

A total of 332 public bus routes have been operated in Jinan by the end of 2017, with total length of 6,321.2 kilometers, and 7,157 public buses have been in service.

Jinan Port has been a comprehensive inland port with basic functions of container transportation, warehousing, modern logistics, and product manufacturing.
