The 29th Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair (HTF), which concluded on June 19 in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, witnessed the signing of 268 trade contacts worth more than 59.1 billion yuan ($9.12 billion).
The fair attracted 1,454 businesses from 60 countries and regions, with 489 foreign firms accounting for 33.6 percent of those in attendance.
In addition, a total of 19,423 registered business representatives attended the event, 3,000 more than in 2017.
During the five-day trade fair, around 191,000 buyers and visitors attended, with retail sales hitting 128.81 million yuan.
Foods, wines, home appliances, daily necessities, jewelry, crafts, tools, electronics and construction materials, were all available for visitors to purchase.
The deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and Russia was clear at the fair, with a total of 11 Sino-Russian cooperation events taking place.
In addition, another 31 business events were held by the government of Harbin to boost regional communication and economic ties.
Initiated in 1990, the China-Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair is a prominent platform for promoting economic and trade communication and cooperation throughout Northeast Asia.
