The added value of Guangzhou's transportation, storing and post industries reached 152.3 billion yuan ($24.1 billion) in 2017, an increase of 11.5 percent from the first half of the year.

Cargo throughput in Guangzhou Port reached 590 million tons, up 8.4 percent year on year, with foreign trade cargo throughput reaching 130 million tons. The port's annual container throughput exceeded 20 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units), up 8 percent year on year.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport served over 65.8 million passengers and handled 2.34 million tons of air mail, up 10.2 percent and 8.3 percent, respectively.

Business income from Guangzhou's post and telecommunications industries reached 75.6 billion yuan, an increase of 19 percent.

The city of Guangzhou hosted over 62.8 million overnight tourists in 2017, an increase of 5.6 percent compared with 2016. The tourism industry contributed over 361 billion yuan to the local economy, up 12.3 percent year on year, while foreign currency earnings from tourism reached $6.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.6 percent.
