The government said in 2017, that it has vigorously implemented innovation-driven strategies and continuously increased its development vitality.
In highlighting scientific and technological support, Yangzhou realized a blowout of innovative achievements in 2017. For example, the R&D input accounted for 2.4 percent of Yangzhou's total GDP, a new group of 110 high-tech enterprises gained national recognition, and the number of invention patents exceeded 900.
The agglomeration effect of Yangzhou's various development zones has taken shape, with the introduction of a series of policies and assessment methods to promote their transformation and upgrading.
A new group of two state-owned industrial bases and three provincial-level science and technological industrial parks were approved. Some famous incubators, such as Ucommune and Ku-3, have helped Yangzhou attract more than 1,000 start-ups and 3,000 makers.
With increasing support, the small and micro businesses in Yangzhou flourished as their total revenue amounted to 476 billion yuan ($75 billion), up 41.4 percent. Local government has also awarded some 70 million yuan to small and micro companies, for their purchasing services and leasing of factories.
