Qingdao Fuwai Hospital covers an area of 20,000 square meters with a floor area of 100,000 square meters and has 800 beds. It is the largest specialized hospital for cardiovascular disease in Shandong Peninsula and a large specialized hospital which integrates medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, health care, prevention and rehabilitation.

The hospital is responsible for the medical reform pilot work of the Ministry of Health, and is a national pilot hospital for work-related injury rehabilitation of the Ministry of Human Resource and Social Security as well as a teaching hospital and postgraduate training base of the Medical College of Qingdao University. Its cardiovascular medicine was named a specialty of Qingdao.
