The Marine Chemical Research Institute (海洋化工研究院有限公司) is a subsidiary of the China National Chemical Corporation.
It is engaged in research, development, production, sales and technical services for ocean and marine coatings, heavy-duty coatings, environmental coatings, functional coatings, functional materials, adhesives and related additives.
The company's headquarter covers an area of 63,000 square meters. This includes a comprehensive scientific research building covering an area of 17,000 sq m. It is equipped with advanced experiment facilities and offshore test stations.
It has a research team consisting of professors, scholars, doctors, technicians, and a technical service team rich in field experience. The professional technical personnel accounts for 70 percent of all employees.
The institute has achieved ISO9001 Quality Management System certification, as well as ISO14001 Environmental Management System certification.
It has passed inspections by the National Hi-tech Enterprise and National Innovation-type Enterprise.
The company also occupies a postdoctoral research workstation.
The State Key Laboratory of Marine Coatings and the National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Marine Coatings and Functional Materials rely on the institute for support.
