Overview

Xiangya Hospital is located in Changsha, a Chinese city with a long history and brilliant culture. Co-founded in 1906 by the Chinese government and the Yale-China Association of Yale University of the United States, Xiangya Hospital has long enjoyed the reputation of "South Xiangya", which means "the best hospital in South China". And now the hospital is affiliated to Central South University, a national key university under direct supervision of the Ministry of Education.

After more than a century's development, Xiangya Hospital has become a large, modern general hospital as well as a key center for health care, medical education and medical research in China. It is under the direct supervision of China's National Health and Family Planning Commission.

Xiangya Hospital, with its well-organized departments and devoted medical staff, is among the best facilities in the Chinese health care industry. It has 3,500 beds and 88 clinical departments. In 2016, the number of outpatient and emergency visits exceeded 2.99 million, while discharged patients numbered over 123,500 and inpatient operations were over 65,500.
