If the crime has caused economic losses to the victim, compensation shall be made by the criminal

According to relevant laws of China, if the victim has suffered economic losses as a result of the criminal act, criminal punishment shall be ordered to the criminal in accordance with law, and compensation for economic damage should be ordered according to the situation. If the victim has suffered material damage as a result of the defendant’s criminal act, he shall have the right to file an incidental civil action during the course of the criminal proceedings. The procedure for requesting compensation is generally as follows: if the victim has suffered property damage, he shall file an incidental civil action; if the victim is dead as a result of crime, his near relatives shall file an incidental civil action; if the victim is a person without the capacity of civil conduct or with limited capacity of civil conduct, his legal agent shall file an incidental civil action.
