Though not as popular as the Guilin-style rice vermicelli, Changsha-style rice vermicelli is an indispensable part of Changsha people's life. Rice vermicelli can be used in breakfasts, lunches, afternoon tea, and dinner, whenever one wants. It can be divided into round and flat types. People prefer the latter because it is tastier. In fact, it doesn't have any taste of its own, instead, the key to a good bowl of rice vermicelli lies in the soup. However, the most astonishing part is that Changsha people usually eat the rice vermicelli without the soup.
