Yangmadao Tourist Resort is a national 4-level destination located in Mouping district, Yantai, East Shandong province. The resort covers 13.52 square kilometers and has approximately 7000 local residents. It enjoys a pleasant climate with no cold winter and no summer heat, giving rise to its reputation as the "Oriental Hawaii".

Yangmadao means the island of horse-raising.Local legends show the area's horse-raising history can be traced back to the time of China's first emperor, Qinshihuang (259-210 BC). In 2019 BC, Qinshihuang passed by Moushan in Mouping district during his east tour and was pleased with the charming scenery and lush grass lands, on which herds of wild horses raced. So he issued a decree to raise war horses there.
