Haiyang Tourist Resort covers 13.36 square kilometers and is a national 4A-level scenic spot in Shandong Peninsula. The resort enjoys a pleasant climate with beautiful natural scenery and rich tourism resources such as the Xubao Golf Course, the only one in Asia with a links, or Scottish design, the largest sand sculpture group and the largest offshore artificial island in northern China.

Haiyang yangko, a local folk dance which can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), was included in the second group of national intangible cultural heritages.
