Zhejiang A & F University

Zhejiang A & F University (ZAFU), located in the Lin'an district of Hangzhou and co-established by the Zhejiang provincial government and the State Forestry Bureau is the only agricultural and forestry university in Zhejiang province. Founded in 1958, ZAFU has developed into a comprehensive university featuring agriculture and forestry and its biological environment.

ZAFU has three campuses in Donghu, Yijin and Zhuji covering an area of over 213 hectares. The school building construction area reaches 900,000 square meters and the total value of the equipment in the university is about 393 million yuan ($62.27 million). It has 17 colleges offering 62 undergraduate majors. There are more than 32,500 students of all types, including 20,600 full-time students, 1,900 graduate students and over 1,000 international students. What's more, ZAFU is well-equipped with faculty of over 1,800 teaching and administrative staff; 580 of the teachers are professors.

ZAFU has undertaken more than 3,800 scientific research tasks including national science and technology projects during the past five years with scientific research funds reaching 862 million yuan. The university has won one second prize of the national technological invention awards, and five second and one third prizes of the national technological progress awards.

Having signed cooperative agreements with about 70 universities and scientific research institutions from 24 countries and regions including the United States, the UK, Canada, Germany, Japan, Australia, Sweden, Serbia and Kenya, ZJUT has become more and more active in external exchanges and made great progress in areas such as developing academic exchanges and joint running of schools. ZJUT's international influence is gradually being enhanced.
