Most of the taxis in Shenyang are Volkswagen Santana and Jetta Saloon vehicles. Taxi fares start at 8 yuan within 3 km then add another 1.82 yuan per km. Fares change to 2.7 yuan per km when over 15 km during daytime and, in the evening, the base price is 9 yuan for the first 3 km and an extra 2 yuan for each additional km (rising to 2.94 yuan per km over 15 kms).
