The history of Yedao dates back to 1930s when it was initially established as a beverage factory in Hainan. The company grew to a limited liability group in 1993, and was enriched into the first publicly traded company with GMP certification in healthcare industry in early 2000. Lugui wine is the leading item that strictly follows the standard of GMP. Its process resembles the produce of medicines and it sets an eminent example in the industry. 

In 2012, the brewing process of Lugui wine was recorded as intangible cultural heritage of Hainan province. So far the brand value of Yedao has reached 16.6 billion yuan ($2.51 billion).
