Hangzhou Bay New Zone (宁波杭州湾新区) is situated in the north of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, facing Hangzhou Bay to its north. It is the center of the economic golden triangle formed by the three large cities of Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo in the south of the Yangtze River Delta region.

Inside the Hangzhou Bay New Zone is a state-level export processing zone and a provincial-level economic development zone. The southern approach bridge of Hangzhou Bay Bridge, the longest cross-sea bridge in the world, traverses the zone, providing obvious location and transportation advantages.

The area covers a land area of 353 square kilometers and a sea area of 350 square kilometers. Boasting well-developed sea, land and air transportation networks, the area is promoting urban integration development with neighboring city clusters.

Statistics show over 230 projects worth more than 230 billion yuan ($34.9 billion) have been introduced in the area from 2012 to 2017, including American Cooper Power Systems, Korean SK, Japanese Shimadzu, German Bosch Group, Ningbo Water-Free Port, Hengyuan Hotel and large-scale business complex.
