Manzhouli Sino-Russian Border Trade Zone (满洲里中俄互市贸易区) is a national-level development zone approved by the State Council in 1992, with the Chinese side opening in 1996. 

The zone, located on the border between Manzhouli of Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Zabaykalsk in Russia, is a transnational trade zone jointly established by China and Russia.

Planned with an area of 0.2 square kilometers, the zone’s leading industries are export processing, trade, tourism, warehousing, and logistics. 

In 2016, the zone’s public budget revenue reached 104.19 million yuan ($15.74 million), a year-on-year increase of 21.82 percent. Fixed-asset investment amounted to 2.5 billion yuan, up 15.5 percent compared with the same period in 2015. The industrial added value saw growth of 7.9 percent. Also, the zone received 126.15 million tourists from Russia, an increase of 59.17 percent.

During the first eight months of 2017, the zone’s turnover reached 103 million yuan.
