Zhanjiang Haidong New Area

The total planning area of Zhanjiang Haidong New Area (湛江海东新区) is about 228 sq kms, of which 49.8 are constructed as a core. It is an ecological bay for government affairs, finance, high-tech, logistics, tourism, science and education, recreation and sports, entertainment and residences.

Haidong New Area is expected to become an urban industrial agglomeration area and a demonstration base of both the marine industry and emerging manufacturing. It will cultivate and develop a featured cluster for superior industry and build itself into a South China Sea marine science and technology center through cooperation with ASEAN.
