Jiangsu Yizheng Economic Development Zone

Established in 1992, Yizheng Economic Development Zone (江苏省仪征经济开发区) is located in the southeast of Yizheng, Yangzhou's satellite city. It is to the south of the Yangtze River golden waterway and along the Yangtze River Highway. 

With a planned area of 86.1 square kilometers, Yizheng Economic Development Zone is one of the 14 major development zones in Jiangsu province comprising a New District and an Automobile Industrial Park. 

The planned area for New District is 43.2 sq km. Its services supporting functions are continually improving, with new roads, water-wastewater system, power supply and consumption, gas, telecommunications, finance, design, agency, transportation, health and education. Its bearing capacity is gradually increasing. Under construction are three large "garden within garden", the Riverside Industrial Park, the New Industrial Park, The Science and the Technology Industrial Park.

The planning area of the Auto Industrial Park is 38.9 sq km. It is a provincial industrial park established according to a strategic plan with SAIC Motor, which includes five major functional areas: vehicle manufacturing, parts production, market logistics, integrated services and ecological protection. 

After years of development, the Auto Industrial Park has gathered such leading, large volume projects as Shanghai Volkswagen Yizheng Branch, SAIC Motor Commercial Vehicle Yizheng Branch, Shanghai Dazhong Allied Developing Company, Jinling ships, Runhai Heavy Industry, Geruide Martial Industry, Jiangsu Guoxin Thermoelectric, Shanghai Yaohua Pilkington Glass, Elec & Eltek, Philips Lighting (China), Pylon Technologies, Know-it-all Communication and Ford Optoelectronics.
