A photography exhibition of works depicting landscapes and scenes of everyday life in China has opened to big crowds in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, reports Baotou Daily.

The exhibition was staged in four sections — landscape, humanity, people and the stage — with all of the photographs created by Tan Shijun, a big name in photography in China and the curator of the Inner Mongolia Baotou Museum.

Fostering an interest in photography since his schooldays, Tan traveled to many places to capture scenes, with the equipment changing from a film camera to a digital camera over the years. Tan’s photos have won him various autonomous region-level and national-level awards and honors. Some have been published in national newspapers such as People’s Daily (overseas edition), China Culture Daily and China Youth Daily.
