A "charming and vibrant" city was recently presented to 14 journalists from across the world who had come to explore Zhuhai’s significance and role in the booming Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Some of the reporters were from the world-renowned Russian News Agency TASS, Russia Today, Portugal's Lusa News Agency, Latin American News Agency of Cuba, European Pressphoto Agency of Germany, and Spain's Basque TV.

On Nov 18, the journalists sailed close to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. The undisputable marvel, which opened on Oct 24, 2018, has become one of the busiest checkpoints in the Greater Bay Area. To date, it has received more than 14 million passengers and 1.5 million vehicles.

Aleksandar Plaveski, representing the European Pressphoto Agency, was optimistic about the role the bridge would play. He noted: It links traffic in the Greater Bay Area as a closed loop. It is like a rotating "bearing," which drives up the flow of people and goods. More and more innovative cooperation and industrial technologies will be generated and exported to the world.

To decode Hengqin New Area as a demonstration zone of deepened Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperation, the journalists visited the Hengqin New Area Exhibition Hall and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Science & Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation Between Guangdong & Macao.

Zigor Aldama Gonzalez, a journalist with the Spanish Colpisa News Agency, expressed curiosity about Hengqin and its potential. He saw that as a close neighbor to Hong Kong and Macao, Hengqin's connection with them opens a convenient channel for international exchanges, and its development is replete with diverse possibilities.

At Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort, the press representatives got to know another of Zhuhai's calling cards – the China International Circus Festival. Olatz Urkia Azurmendi from Basque TV said the outstanding performances show in miniature the prosperity and development of Chinese culture.

Zhuhai was seen developing fast in leisure tourism, as evidenced by its large aquarium, circus, and island tourism projects. The city's rich tourism resources are complementary to those of Macao, and it will become a new international travel destination through deepened cooperation with Macao, said reporter Joao Pimenta of Lusa News Agency.

Furthermore, independent innovation became another key phrase the journalists associated with Zhuhai's promising prospects after they visited Zhuhai 4DAGE, Gree Electric Appliances, XH Smart Tech (China), and By-Health Transparent Factory.

A reporter with Spain's Catalonia TV, identified as Francesc Canals, noted that China's innovation power has become apparent in all areas, and many cities, including Zhuhai, are being transformed rapidly to be more focused on R&D and innovation.
