Poland’s ambassador to China visits Shanxi University

A delegation led by Wojciech Zajączkowski, Poland’s ambassador to China, paid a visit to Shanxi University on Nov 15, according to university officials.

Vice-principal Zhou Xiaoji on behalf of SXU conveyed a warm welcome to the delegates and gave brief introduction about the development tradition and current situation of SXU.

Zhou said SXU had always attached importance to international exchanges and cooperation, and continuously expanded international cooperation with foreign universities and research institutions at various levels and in a wide range of fields.

To date, SXU has established relations with Warsaw University, Warsaw University of Economics and Rhodes University in Poland.

It has sent eight teachers and students to Polish universities for exchange visits and international conferences. The exchanges between the two sides have achieved remarkable results, officials said.

Ambassador Zajączkowski thanked SXU officials for their warm reception. He said he was willing to promote cooperation in the fields of academic research, teacher and student exchanges, as well as summer and winter holiday programs between SXU and universities in Poland.

During his visit to SXU, the diplomat also visited the Shanxi University History Museum to learn about the history, administration philosophy, academic courses, social work and international exchanges and cooperation achievements of Shanxi University.

SXU officials said senior staff from the International Cooperation and Exchanges Department, the School of International Education and the Exchange and the Principal Office also met with the delegation.
