Short video startup sets up headquarters in Jinan

Xiaojiang Technology, an internet startup focused on providing short video products and services, recently set up its headquarters in Huaiyin district, Jinan, capital of Shandong province.

The headquarters—known as Shandong Xiaojiang Qihang Technology Co—signed agreements with the publicity department of Jinan, the Jinan Daily Newspaper Group and local authorities in Huaiyin district on Nov 7.

Yang Feng, director of the publicity department of Jinan, said that Jinan is striving to improve its image through the use of influential internet platforms, making Xiaojiang a welcome presence.

Yang expressed hope that Jinan and Xiaojiang can work together to promote the city's new media industry, and that Xiaojiang will become an important window for the rest of the world to learn about Jinan's culture, history and civil life.

Zhao Chenguang, director of the publicity department of Huaiyin district, was also hopeful about the huge development potential brought by Xiaojiang Technology, and promised to help the company go public as soon as possible.

Song Jian, co-founder and CEO of Xiaojiang, thanked local authorities for their support. He pledged to boost Jinan's internet industrial development through the introduction of more high-quality products and vowed that the company would work to enhance the city's image.

Xiaojiang was established in March 2018 with a registered capital of $40 million. It has set up offices and R&D teams in Beijing, Shanghai and Qingdao.

Its main product, "Weiba", is an app featuring short video production and live streaming. It has received a positive response since its launch, with more than 30 million downloads and 500 million average daily plays so far.

"Shendoushi", another popular app developed by Xiaojiang, allows users to chat, sing and play games with each other.
