Wuxi shines at software expo

The 15th China International Software Product and Information Service Trade Fair (CIS) kicked off in Nanjing, capital city of East China's Jiangsu province, on July 19.

The four-day fair, with the tagline "digital economy, smart future", included artificial intelligence, 5G, big data, virtual reality and industrial internet. More than 1,200 companies from 30 countries participated.

Wuxi, a leader in developing new generation information technologies in Jiangsu province, took part in the fair as a "partner city". Covering an area of 1,000 square meters, the Wuxi pavilion is made up of 26 enterprises displaying achievements in the latest intelligent technologies, environmental protection, national intangible cultural heritages and sightseeing.

Jiangsu Provincial Party Secretary Lou Qinjian, Jiangsu Governor Wu Zhenglong, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Chen Zhaoxiong and Wuxi Mayor Huang Qin opened the Wuxi pavilion on July 19. They also learned about participant firms and admired Huishan clay figurines and Wuxi Opera.

Huang delivered a keynote speech at the main summit, showing Wuxi's support for the fair and its efforts to develop a pilot area for internet of vehicles technology and promote a better business environment for software companies.

In 2018, the total revenue of software and information technology industries in Wuxi reached 132.6 billion yuan ($19.3 billion), a year-on-year increase of 18.78 percent. The city is home to one national software park, four provincial software parks and two provincial internet industrial parks.
