Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, released guidelines on how to promote rural industry revitalization over the next four years at a meeting on July 16.

The document calls for the development of traditional rural industries, industries with unique local features, and emerging rural industries.

It also outlines how to become a model city for rural industry revitalization.

According to the guidelines, Hangzhou will cultivate a series of demonstration zones and towns featuring agricultural products, develop a new business model combining agriculture, cultural innovation and tourism, and advance the application of green technology.

Meanwhile, efforts will be made to foster leading agricultural enterprises, find practical applications for new agricultural technologies, and promote the development and utilization of resources while focusing on biological seed treatment, digital villages, sericulture, and forest economy.

The guidelines pointed out that it is necessary to cultivate new agricultural business entities such as specialized farmer cooperatives, family farms, agricultural startups and agricultural service organizations while giving full play to the leading role of new agricultural management entities to increase the income of farmers.

Efforts will also be made to improve innovation and entrepreneurship and encourage migrant workers and college graduates to return home and start family farms.

Financial services, insurances, and guarantees in regard to land and talents will be improved to support the revitalization drive.
