A forward-looking seminar on Inner Mongolia's ethnic minority film industry was held in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 13, according to local media reports.

At the seminar, which was attended by representatives and leading figures from the film and television industry, people discussed the industrialization of ethnic minority films, as well as the opportunities and challenges brought about by such a process.

In recent years, Inner Mongolia has made significant achievements in filmmaking, and a number of the region's films have been recognized by the Chinese film industry. The film The Portrait of My Mother, which was set in Ordos, won the Best Director Award at the 16th Universe Multicultural Film Festival in 2019.

The region's film industry has been seeing strong development momentum. Many films featuring minority cultures and exotic scenery have been very successful, and the harmony between minority films and more commercial films has won acclaim from audiences.

At the forum, a minority film project focusing on adventures in local scenery was officially launched. The project will attempt to manage the film industrialization process in Inner Mongolia, take advantage of local resources, and promote the integration and development of film, television and cultural tourism in the region.
